International festival of equestrian martial arts "The Scythians"

Over the weekend, Kyiv will host the horse martial arts festival "The Scythians".
On November, 2 and 3 in the "Kyivan Rus Park" there will be held the equestrian martial arts festival "The Scythians".
In ancient times, the rider and the horse had to stay in close alliance, stand in battle or receive the hunting trophy. Continuing the ancient traditions, the modern equestrian martial arts` virtuosos show their skills in ancient Kyiv.
The horse archers` competitions will be the key-event of the festival. They will be held at an interesting scheme where each subsequent round of the task becomes more complicated. In the first race the rider will shoot from one target to the next and so on until four. The competitions of the mounted archers will have a day and night format.
The actors of the stunt-horse theater of the Ancient Kyiv will demonstrate the mastery of various weapons that were used in the Middle Ages: swords, spears, Sulitsa. As well the riders and their faithful four-legged friends will demonstrate the elements of combat trick riding: various tricks, which are now used in the demonstrations and in the past helped in the attack or saving lives in combat.
The viewers will see the race on the war chariots, the archers` presentation of costumes of different eras and people and the horse battle armor. The guests of the Park will get a chance to feel themselves in the role of ancient horsemen. The open workshops on horseback martial arts will take place with this aim.
By the way, the participants of the festival will ride the horses of the Princely Stable of the Ancient Kyiv, which contains about 20 different historic horse breeds.
And in the evening there will be an evening program with shooting with fire arrows and shooting with fire nuclei from a trebuchet.
In addition to the equestrian events battle theme, which will last in the ancient Kyiv for two days, much more fun entertainment will be waiting for the guests of the festival: sports competitions, Slavic games, quizzes. You will be able to ride a horse, to practice accuracy in the historic shooting gallery, to buy an original souvenir on the street of artists and so on.
A feeling of adrenaline for the guests will be provided by the fascinating zipline Politailo, on which everyone can not only descend from a height, but also fly over the lake.
