An exciting weekend in the heart of Kyivan Rus!
On September, 07-08 2019 in Ancient Kyiv in the Principality of Kyivan Rus a sight worthy of princes will take place. A rich program and also tasty dishes prepared on fire, different locations and amusements, museums and games with the guests – all of this and even more will make the weekend really thrilling for everybody!
On this day the Princely tournament of horseback archers will be held. The sportsmen-virtuosos from all over the country will come to the Principality in order to compete in the traditional (historical) bow shooting on horseback at full gallop.
This is an extremely difficult task for the competition participants but, at the same time, a betting and thrilling sight for the viewers. The competition of horseback archers will pass in the main nomination and in the «Exotic» nomination, which foresees the hitting of four targets during one round.
The competition between the participants will be fierce because the winners of the tournament will get an opportunity to participate in the International horseback martial arts festival «The Scythians I», which will take place in Ancient Kyiv on November, 2-3 2019.
The sportsmen and the actors-stuntmen will perform in tandem with the horses of the unique historical breeds gathered from all around the world in the Princely stable. Some of these horses can be seen nowhere else in Ukraine because they were brought to our country in a single number.
As always, a kaleidoscope of vivid emotions from the travel to the real live medieval city will be waiting for the guests of the Principality. Here everyone will be able to find an activity he likes. Have a picnic on nature and taste Slavic dishes and drinks from the Princely cooks to fully enjoy the spring warmth with family and friends. Apart from participating in mass amusements every visitor of Ancient Kyiv can choose an individual activity he likes – shoot a bow, rent a costume and make a photo session, ride on a horseback or in a carriage, walk along the banks of the Forest lake, take part in different master-classes. It will also be possible to buy or make with your own hands original souvenirs on the master`s fair.
The unique horses of rare historical breeds are gathered in the Princely stable of Ancient Kyiv. The guests of the «Kyivan Rus Park» can learn a lot of interesting things about the origin of the breeds, about which outstanding personalities of antiquity rode the representatives of which of the breeds. Every visitor can approach to the horses, palm them, make a photo with and ride on a horseback or in a carriage.
You can learn a lot of interesting facts about the life of our ancestors on the master-classes on folk crafts and when having visited the museums of the historical costume, wooden architecture, m edieval music and the expositions of the siege technique, the medieval shipbuilding and even the medieval torture-room.
A feeling of adrenaline for the guests will be provided by the fascinating zipline Politailo (where everyone can not only descend from the height, but also fly over the lake), as well as the high-speed slide “Zmey Gorynych”, after which you can take a picture with a fire-breathing dragon..

In case of not holding (cancellation) of the event, the Buyer returns 100% of the nominal value of the ticket. In the case of returning a ticket at the buyer's initiative, a commission of 10% is deducted from its value, which is not subject to return to the buyer. The ticket may be returned, in case of a buyer's appeal no later than one day prior to the day of the event, until 16:00 a.m., except for weekends and holidays.
