On May, 16 - 19 a grandiose event of a world size, which has been awaited by the Ukrainians and the country guests since May of the previous year, will take place in Ancient Kyiv in the Principality of Kyivan Rus - Medieval combat festival. Within the festival for the first time in the history the medieval combat World Championship IMCF that will gather on the big tilting-yard over 1000 warriors from 40 countries of the world will take place in Ukraine. In uncompromising battles in unbelievable spectacle fights the warriors will compete for the title of the world champions.
The world championship IMCF is the most mass sport event of 2019 in Ukraine. After the recognition of the medieval combat as a sport and the world-famous victory of the Ukraine`s national team in Barcelona, the medieval combat gained incredible popularity. Tourists come from all over the world to support their national team. And at last the Ukrainians have received an opportunity to support our sportsmen without the need of leaving the country.
The world championship is organized by the International Medieval Combat Federation IMCF with the help of the all-Ukrainian medieval combat federation. The event is taking place with the support of the Ministry of youth and sport of Ukraine. We remind you that Ukraine became the first country in the world which managed to gain the official recognition of the medieval combat as a sport.
The world championship will be within the frameworks of the medieval combat festival organized by the International Medieval Combat Federation IMCF and supported by the all-Ukrainian medieval combat federation. The event is supported by the Ministry of youth and sport of Ukraine. We remind that upon the petition of the all-Ukrainian medieval combat federation with the Order №4711 dated 23.12.2016 the Ministry of youth and sport of Ukraine included the medieval combat to the Register of recognized sports.
The sportsmen will put on heavy knight armor and will demonstrate their valor in full-contact battles using real medieval weapon made according to the historical sources. During four days it will be possible to see single and group fights and even women`s battles. These are not staged fights, here everything is for real!
The color of Ancient Kyiv will complement the program because it`s the only place where you can see a real medieval city of the Хth century in its full size. The guests will get a chance to feel themselves as the habitants of the Early Middle Ages, to taste delicious dishes prepared on open fire, to ride horses or in carriages, to visit the museums, to fly on the rope descent «Politailo» and the speed slide «Zmiy Gorynych», to shoot a bow and arkbalista, to mint an ancient Kyivan coin, dress into the habitant of Ancient Kyiv in the princely costume-room, to make a souvenir at the potter`s, to have a rest near the Forest lake , to visit different master-classes and the master`s fair. The children from 2 to 12 years can have fun in the rope cube-labyrinth – «Mousetrap».
Between the battles the guests will see an entertaining program, horseback performances, flash mobs and the medieval dancing with the visitors’ master-classes, the cup with gifts lottery. In the evening the bright shots with fire kernels from the Trebuchet, on Saturday– also a faery fire show.
On Sunday you will see the most intriguing part of the festival – the awarding of the winners.

In case of not holding (cancellation) of the event, the Buyer returns 100% of the nominal value of the ticket. In the case of returning a ticket at the buyer's initiative, a commission of 10% is deducted from its value, which is not subject to return to the buyer.
