Easter in Ancient Kiev»: dishes consecration and show

On May 02 in Ancient Kiev a grandiose Easter celebration will take place. The guests will not only get a chance to consecrate their dishes in the St Basil’s (Vasylivska) church but also will plunge into the epoch which is hidden from us by thousands of the past years and get the answers for many questions.

It is very symbolic to celebrate Easter exactly in the «Kyivan Rus Park», because here Ancient Kyiv of the Rus christening epoch is recreated. And this means the guests will have a possibility not only to make a picnic but also to see a lot of bright actions connected with the birth of Christianity on the territory of modern Ukraine.

It will be possible to consecrate dishes in the unique church of the Х century. It is one of the new buildings on the territory of the complex. A solemn Easter procession which will end with the Easter prayer will be organized to the Vasylivskiy church where the priest will consecrate dishes and drinks of all the guests. It will be also possible to order juicy shashliks, medieval dishes, mead vodka, horseradish vodka and much more on place. You can also bring baskets from home.

The program will begin from the meeting of the great kyivan prince Volodymyr with treats and surprises. After the Easter procession a rich program will be waiting for the guests: horse warriors tournament, horse-trick show, Easter vertep, equestrian bow shooting, fiery theatrical show with live vocal and dances,the Spring musical fragments, the horse-pedestrian battle lead reconstruction.

The Ancient Kyiv guests will be involved in the program by being invited to the rope pulling, to the ancient Slavic games and amusements, merry round dancings . Only in the Ancient Kyiv a master-class on Easter singing will take place. During the Easter holidays there will be a presentation of the first «Ancient Slavonic phrase book» in the Eastern Europe. It is interesting, do we understand the language of our ancestors? And what about speaking it yourself: to congratulate with a birthday, to confess in love or ask the waiter for «one more»? You can do all of this by taking the book which was published by the collective of the «Kyivan Rus Park».

Also in Ancient Kyiv you can visit unique museums, learn something new on the master-classes, ride a horse or in a phaeton, shoot a bow, fly on the rope descent, mint a coin for luck, buy unusual souvenirs and much more. Additionally to this in the «Kyivan Rus Park» there is a possibility to stay for the night.

A feeling of adrenaline for the guests will be provided by the fascinating zipline Politailo (where everyone can not only descend from the height, but also fly over the lake), as well as the high-speed slide “Zmey Gorynych”, after which you can take a picture with a fire-breathing dragon..
