The hero calling to Ancient Kiev for the historical battle festival

Ancient Kyiv in the Principality of Kyivan Rus invites to a grandiose sport-historical event - Festival «Call of heroes». More than 300 of the best fighters from Ukraine and other countries will enter the military field and conduct full-contact battles in knightly armor with medieval weapons! The co-organizer of the competition is the All-Ukrainian Federation of Medieval Combat.

Want to see real knightly battles? Or maybe you know a lot about the battles of antiquity, about the weapons and armor worn by the knights of the Middle Ages. Or do you just choose a place to go for a weekend break? In any case, the sight that unfolds on the lists will make you feel a trembling in your knees and hold your breath.

Sportsmen among which there`ll be the representatives of the national historical battle teams, the winners and the participants of international championships, the most awarded fighters will gather on the tilting yard of Ancient Kiev to compete.

The championship program is very rich. Intransigent battles will pass in the “sword-sword” and “shield-sword” nominations and there will also be a separate women nomination. Spectacular mass battles will pass in the «5 against 5 warriors» and «21 against 21 warriors» nominations.

Historical battle is not only a spectacular show but also a full sport type where the participants are the equipped in the same armor as the medieval knight samples we have sportsmen. The warriors are armed with swords and shields, battle-axes , spears, falchions which fully reproduce ancient weapon. This sport revives ancient martial arts, their techniques and methods giving the viewers a bright show.

A feeling of adrenaline for the guests will be provided by the fascinating zipline Politailo (where everyone can not only descend from the height, but also fly over the lake), as well as the high-speed slide “Zmey Gorynych”, after which you can take a picture with a fire-breathing dragon.

And of course, you can taste delicious dishes from princes cooks in the Princely Tavern and in food points in the open air and in arbors.

Also you can stay for the night in the hotel-type house «4 rooms», which is situated in a five-minutes walk from the Detinetz of Kyiv or in the hostel or at a camping within the park.
