Show-program "Warriors of Light"

The Warriors of light will fire up near Kyiv

On March, 14 and 15 Ancient Kyiv in the Principality of Kyivan Rus («Kyivan Rus Park») invites to the new show-program «The Warriors of light». Horse-trick performances and spectacular stagings, Slavic amusements, fiery round dances, merry and cognitive games and contests will be waiting for the guests. And also: riding on purebred horses, tasty dishes prepared on open fire and hot drinks, master-classes, rope descent, museums and expositions. And all of this in a real live medieval city.

Having entered the gate of the Principality the guests will make a time travel in a thousand years ago in the times of Kyivan Rus. It is in «The Kyivan Rus Park» where Kyiv of the V-ХІІІ cc. and also the atmosphere and spirit of the historical heart of our Motherland are being recreated according to the knowledge of modern science.

Only here the guests of Ancient Kyiv will see the masterpieces of medieval wooden architecture. Among them there is «Zaborola» - the longest reconstructed defensive structure which has no analogues in the whole world. Also the Michael`s gate reconstructed on the basis of archaeological excavations (of the height of 21 meters), princely terems and tribunes, watchtowers, the mansions of Kyiv residents of the X-XIІ cc and many more.

The museums of medieval architecture, historical costume, ancient musical instruments and also the expositions of siege techniques, medieval shipbuilding and even the medieval torture room are open for visitors.

The first Christian temple built in Kyiv after the Rus christening is recreated here – the unique wooden Basyl`s church of the X century. It is a working temple and all the guests can enter and not just see in which temples our ancestors prayed but also put a candle in it for the health of loved ones. |In this unique temple the wedding, christening can be organized.

Apart from the impressive architecture close acquaintance with the horses of rare historical breeds gathered from all around the world in the Princely stable will be waiting for the guests. Some can be seen nowhere else in Ukraine because they have been brought to our country in a single number.

All the horses have passed the training course with the purpose of successful participation in horse-trick shows both in Ukraine and abroad. Every guest can approach to these wonderful creatures, palm them, take a photo with and have a ride on a horseback or in a carriage.

Apart from the masterpieces of medieval architecture and the unique atmosphere of Kyivan Rus a bright entertaining program will be waiting for the guests. The parade of the princely flags will open it and the Boyar Spring will charm the guests with her songs performed live. After the colorful photo session with the Prince and the inhabitants of Ancient Kyiv the guests will be invited to join fiery Slavic round dances. Only in the Principality the visitors will see ancient rites with fire and will even have a chance to participate in them.

Apart from this the spectacular horse shows of the Warriors of light where the main roles will be performed by the wonderful horses from the Princely stable will be waiting for the guests. Surely, in a tandem with the experienced stuntmen-actors of the horse-trick theatre of Ancient Kyiv. These unique horses will amaze the guests with not only their noble beauty but also with grace and flawless stunts. The «Princely hunt» horse show will please the guests as well, because during it the warriors will surprise everybody with the virtuoso medieval weapon possession.

The guests of the Principality will be not only the viewers but will have a possibility to take part in interactive theatric stagings on the ancient Slavic theme, in merry and cognitive games, contests, flash mobs and master-classes.

A feeling of adrenaline for the guests will be provided by the fascinating zipline Politailo, on which everyone can not only descend from a height, but also fly over the lake, as well as the high-speed slide “Zmey Gorynych”, after which you can take a picture with a fire-breathing dragon.

And of course, you can taste delicious dishes from princely cooks in the Princely Tavern and in the open air food points and in arbors.

Also you can stay for the night in the hotel-type house «4 rooms», which is situated in a five-minutes walk from the Detinetz of Kyiv or in the hostel.
